Moroso "Vol", Dinning table
Designer Stefan Scholten, 2024
The elegantly solid appearance of the Vol table, created by Stefen Scholten, comes from the meeting of two geometric shapes: a conical base formed from three sheets of birch plywood and a circular top of the same material.
Designed on basic construction principles, the Vol table is covered in linoleum, an old-fashioned recyclable material made from natural constituents, including linseed oil, from which its name is derived. Developed and patented in the second half of the 19th century, then gradually replaced by less expensive vinyl or rubber alternatives with which it is often confused, linoleum has chromatic properties that give softness and warmth to surfaces and furniture, and highlight highlight the geometric lines of Vol. Warm to the touch, flexible and resistant to fingerprints, linoleum is ideal for covering both gently curved contours and geometric linear designs. Tones of clay, leather and walnut were chosen to accentuate the natural inspiration of the table.
Vol is also available in Ecotone, a material made from sheets of recycled glass containing a resin derived from biocompounds and having a silica content of less than 5 percent.
It is available in the following sizes: Ø 140 cm, oval 240 x 120 cm, oval 300 x 140 cm.
Finishes: light oak wood, dark oak wood, ecotone top color, linoleum top color
