Vertigo, behind the scenes of a decoration project.

Established in the heart of Geneva since 2020, Vertigo offers turnkey solutions for decorating your interiors. Its manager, Mathieu Bernasconi, shares with us behind the scenes of his latest creation in a historic villa.

“Describe your latest project to us?

Vertigo's latest production took place abroad, in a magnificent listed historic villa. Our client, who prefers to remain anonymous, entrusted us with the mission of modernizing the building, while retaining certain elements that give it its charm and authenticity. We went on site several times to take measurements, then worked using 3D creation software. These synthetic images allowed us to show the different possibilities and final renderings available to the client. We have redesigned the decoration of most of the rooms in the building. Some have been completely redone.

What were the technical constraints?

Although we had carte blanche with my colleague Mallaury, we nevertheless had to take into account certain technical elements such as the size of the rooms and the openings for the furniture to pass through, or the composition and solidity of the walls when choosing the suspensions. Certain ornaments of the villa were also protected, such as frescoes which date back several hundred years. The challenge was therefore to modernize and refresh the style without damaging this beautiful heritage.
 

What suppliers, brands and materials are used?


It’s a very qualitative achievement and anything but have-you-seen, so we selected the furniture and decorative elements from very high-end brands with whom we work regularly. Poltrona Frau for the seats, MisuraEmme and DeCastelli for the storage, Artifort and Alivar.

We worked with noble materials such as wood, metal and marble.
Everything was installed by our teams, who can travel throughout Switzerland and abroad.
 

Was the client involved in the project? How did this happen?
 

As with each of our projects, we began with an in-depth analysis of our client, their expectations and the location. From there we were able to highlight 5 key words, which then helped us to put together the entire file: sobriety, elegance, family, friendly, quality were the five key words.

This careful study of needs is a crucial step for the rest of the project. It allows us to move very quickly into execution. For this project, we took a total of three months from first contact with the customer until final delivery.
